Italian Connection

This post is dedicated to my new found old Italian friends!

Background: Over the past couple of weeks I've been reunited with my high school friends in Italy, after an absence of about 20 years. The link was my Brazilian friend who studied with me in Holland, and now works in Germany with one of my Italian school mates. So much has happened in 20 years - but the personalities are remain just as I remember them to be.

At lunchtime today I was inspired by my new found Italian connection, and decided to order a pizza for lunch. The word was that the best pizza in town comes from the "Italy Pizza Center". Sounds Italian - so I went for it!

And this is what I got! I can tell you the taste matched the looks. But at least they put olives.

and those weekends on friday....
Are you sure Sudan is a place for you?

Yo Sam,
which friend from Italy? You hadn't told me about re-connecting with anyone from that era.....tell me who!
Also, that "Italian" pizza looks pretty sorry. Did they try to make a smiley-face with the olives?
Speaking of Italian connections; I spoke with Ferdie the other day, his Dad just got stationed in Rome! He said, "Dai, andiamo!".

Your pizza sure looks like a pizza face crying out! No reason to smile! He's just going to be eaten! ;)
Next time try Chinese, see what faces can you distinguish in there!

Hey duuuude! what are those brown spots on your pizza ?! Still mildly surprising compared to the oily box !
Advice, stick to the French Onion Soup. Extra salt is not that bad from time to time...

Miss you,

Kylie - As Rafal correctly stated, food is an important part of my life. Ultimately through, I ate the damn pizza! Hunger tramples all over my love for good food.

Coming from someone who cooks the best damn clam spaghetti with vodka sauce, manages a mean baked fish covered in salt, and does the best overall Thai food I've tasted I think you'd understand my suffering if you saw what I have to eat.

Hope your culinary experiences are as rich as they were in Bahrain.

hahahah Wiss that is funny.... not sure if I told you the other week I baked a fish in salt again - I saw it in a recipe book and thought wow. I must say I got gold stars from all my guests - it was fabulous!

Yes I still love to cook and I am extremely courageous - i even do some arabic dishes - I make mean cabbage rolls I am sure Nehal would be plensantly surprised - tell her we will have a bake off next time i see her...

wow cool! That's impressive. I'll tell her and she'll definitely be up for the challenge. She'll probably fly all the way down under to defend her reputation. So don't be surprised if she knocks on your door one day with a suitcase full of cooking gear and ingredients.
